Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
The Auxiliary is a vibrant and active organization. Formed in 1953, the Auxiliary has grown to over 150 members, men and women. It hosts monthly activities and special events which raise thousands of dollars annually to support technology and programs at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary also provides annual scholarships to support education for students pursuing careers in the health care field.
The Auxiliary operates the hospital's gift shop, which is its major fund raiser. The popular gift shop, located near the front entrance offers patients, staff, and visitors a wide selection of gifts such as new baby presents, balloons, jewelry, seasonal items, stuffed animals, candy, and floral arrangements.
Volunteers with Special Skills
The Auxiliary is always looking for volunteers to staff its gift shop, or anyone who can share their special skills (baking, woodworking, decorating, etc.) to help with its many fund raisers.If you have skills that you would like to share, contact Auxiliary President Kamilla Hall at 778-4996. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, September through June, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Annual Gifts to the Hospital
In the past 11 years, the Auxiliary has raised funds for the purchase of equipment and technology. Annual gifts to Franklin Memorial Hospital have included:
- Treadmill for the Center for Heart Health
- Wheelchair, strollers, and wagon
- Equipment for the Center for Heart Health
- Heart monitors for Life Star Ambulance
- Reclining chairs for patient rooms
- Emergency department heart monitors
- Bone Density Room
- Televisions and furnishings for patient rooms
- Neonatal heart monitors and electro-surgical unit
- Healing Garden
The Auxiliary has donated funds to expand the Healing Garden to the grounds of the new Franklin Health Medical Arts Center.
