Sarah Morrill's Story

When my husband and I found out I was pregnant with our first child, Maggie, we were so excited. We wanted to make sure we were doing everything right, which included finding a hospital and medical practice I trusted and liked. After extensive research, it was clear to me that Franklin Health Women’s Care and Franklin Memorial Hospital were the right choices for me. The experience was fantastic, so when I was pregnant with our second child, Rory, I knew right away that I would go to Franklin again.

After returning to Franklin, I was particularly pleased to find that Daisy Goodman, a nurse midwife, had just joined its team of providers. Daisy told me about the Centering Pregnancy program, which combines high-quality prenatal care with education and the support of other pregnant women and their partners. It was a wonderful experience—my husband and I had the opportunity to meet other expectant parents, share stories and learn from each other. Meeting with the same group of expectant parents for several months allowed us to develop a caring support network.

When Rory’s due date arrived, Daisy assisted my obstetrician, Dr. Belair, in performing a cesarean section. All of the preparation, care and guidance I received beforehand really helped ease me through this second pregnancy and delivery. Now pregnant with my third child, my husband and I are once again attending the Centering Pregnancy program. I have had nothing but excellent care and experiences at Franklin Health Women’s Care and Franklin Memorial Hospital, and would encourage any expectant mother to find out for herself what makes Franklin so fantastic.
