Franklin Memorial Hospital has added a third location for its patients to receive diagnostic x-rays—on the second floor of the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center (MAC Radiology) on the Franklin Memorial Hospital campus.
The new digital x-ray service operates Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. For maximum convenience, walk-in services are provided, although patients can make appointments if preferred by calling Franklin Health Orthopaedics at 778-9001.
According to Kim Turner, FMH radiology director, the new location is efficient for patients with registration and the procedure taking place in one location. Patients must have a physician’s order to receive the service.
“If you need an x-ray, make sure to bring your physician’s order with you,” said Turner. “Although it may be more convenient for some to make an appointment, you can walk into the Orthopaedic practice and have an x-ray taken at anytime throughout the day.”
In addition to the new site, Franklin Memorial Hospital also offers x-ray services at the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center at 21 Main Street in Livermore Falls, and in the hospital’s radiology department on the first floor, which is staffed 24 hours a day.
All x-rays are interpreted by a radiologist who sends the results to the ordering physician.
