Gerald Cayer, Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN) executive vice president, is pleased to announce that Cole Teague has earned the designation of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) from the American Hospital Association Certification Center. Teague is the newly appointed interim chief of facilities management for the health network. Previously Teague was the facilities supervisor for nearly six years.
To earn the CHFM, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of professional experiences and education. One must also successfully pass the CHFM certification exam that assesses the knowledge required of a competent healthcare facility manager in the areas of compliance, planning, design and construction, maintenance and operations, and finance and administration.
“Cole is to be commended for his commitment to professional development by earning this certification,” said Cayer. “The CHFM is a national credential that distinguishes an individual as being among the best in the healthcare facility management profession.”
Teague, who resides in Fairfield, received his bachelor’s degree in horticulture from the University of Maine.
FCHN is a locally controlled, nonprofit, network of rural health-care providers based in Farmington, Maine that includes Franklin Memorial Hospital, Franklin Health medical practices, Evergreen Behavioral Services, NorthStar EMS, and the Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County.
