Taking the Stress Out of Caregiving
September 6, 2007
A presentation for people caring for friends or family members is being offered by Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) and the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Called Taking the Stress Out of Caregiving: How to Help Yourself and Where to Find Help in Greater Franklin County, this
presentation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at SeniorsPlus, Rts. 2 & 4 in Wilton.
Individuals will learn from an experienced panel what community resources are available for home health, residential care and peer support in Greater Franklin County. Representatives from Care & Comfort, SeniorsPlus, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, and support groups will provide an
overview of services and answer questions. Individuals will also learn important tips for taking care of themselves while caring for others. Free hand massages will also be offered.
This presentation is the first in a new series sponsored by HCC and the Ben Franklin Center called the Six O'Clock Series. The Six O'Clock Series features monthly presentations on timely health topics, and provides information about community resources relevant to the topic. Presentations
will be held throughout Greater Franklin County for the convenience of community members. This fall the Six O'Clock Series will offer presentations on prescription assistance and medication safety and alternative and complementary therapies.
