Presentation on Franklin Health Access-Rx
September 13, 2007
Are you having trouble paying for your prescriptions? Do you know the questions you should ask your doctor when you receive a new prescription? Are you worried about side effects? Answers to these questions and more will be discussed at community presentations being offered in Livermore Falls and Rangeley.
The Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) and the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital welcome you to attend one of two free community presentations to learn more about Franklin Health Access-Rx, a program that helps area residents find ways to lower the cost of medicines. As part of the presentation, trained staff from Franklin Health Access will also provide information and tips on how to take medicines correctly and safely.
"To date, Franklin Health Access-Rx has acquired almost a quarter of a million dollars in free medications for greater Franklin County residents," said Lisa Laflin of the HCC. "Anyone struggling to pay for his or her prescriptions should attend one of these presentations to learn more."
The presentations are on Wednesday, September 26, at Treat Memorial Library in Livermore Falls and on Wednesday, October 10, in the Community Room at Rangeley Town House Apartments. Both take place from 6-7:30 p.m. and there will be refreshments and free giveaways. Childcare is also available upon advance request.
The presentations are part of the new Six O'clock Series, a collaborative effort of the HCC and the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The series features monthly presentations on timely health topics and provides information on how to connect to community resources relevant to
the topic. Presentations will be held throughout greater Franklin County. Upcoming topics will include alternative and complementary therapies, and managing diabetes over the holidays.
