Pratt Credentialed in MRI Specialty
March 27, 2007
Heather Pratt, RT(R)(MR)ARRT, an MRI technologist at Franklin Memorial Hospital, was recently certified and added to the Registry of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
To achieve the credential, Pratt met the Registry's strict prerequisites, including education and career-experience requirements, as well as successfully passing a comprehensive examination in the specialty area. Achievement of this certificate acknowledges personal achievement of a highly recognized professional standard of excellence.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses radiofrequency waves and a strong magnetic field rather than x-rays to provide detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. The technique has proven very valuable for the diagnosis of a broad range of pathologic conditions in all parts of the body including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke , and joint and musculoskeletal disorders.
"I am very proud of Heather's ongoing educational and professional development to attain registered status in MRI," said Kim Turner, FMH Radiology Director. "It demonstrates her commitment to her career and also serves to benefit our patients."
Pratt resides in Livermore with her husband Dwayne. She has been employed by Franklin Memorial Hospital for over a year.
