Heather Rhinhart (not pictured) of NorthStar EMS and an AmeriCorps volunteer, recently attended the annual Girl Scout Jamboree in Readfield. She voluntarily taught 140 females, ages 5-20, from all over Maine about bleeding control, splinting, and Heimlich maneuver, influencing some to aspire to become an EMT. At the end of the day Rhinhart said, "I am so blessed to be able to reach out to so many. These girls are our future; one day they will be our nurses, doctors, and surgeons. I am so thankful for the time I spent with them laying that foundation for their future. I look forward to attending next year's event, too!"
