Next Prescriptions for Health Presentation
October 22, 2008Franklin Community Health Network has brought back its popular community education series titled “Prescriptions for Health.” The series features local physicians and health care providers who present on a variety of health and wellness topics. The series is open to the public and free of charge.
Registrations are now being taken for a presentation featuring Randy Gauvin, which will take place on Wednesday, November 19, at 6 p.m., in the Chisholm Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Gauvin is an emergency department physician assistant and is the emergency preparedness coordinator at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
“Snow storm, power outage, hurricane, and flu—emergencies can happen at any time and can affect you and your family,” said Gauvin. “My talk will cover how to take some simple steps early that can make a big difference in ensuring the safety and well-being of you and your loved ones. We will review the steps of getting a kit, making a plan, and staying informed.”

A sampling of upcoming topics for the “Prescriptions for Health” series includes: hospice care; cardiovascular health; autism, ADD, and other developmental disorders; and diabetes management.
