Miriah McKenna, RN, BSN, has been appointed the Emergency Department nurse manager at Franklin Memorial Hospital (FMH), according to Pam Ernest, FMH chief nursing officer.
In her new working nurse manager position, McKenna will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the unit including staffing, budgeting, and staff development and supervision.
McKenna recently received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Western Governor’s University. Prior to that she received her associate’s degree in nursing from the University of Maine in Augusta. She has 15 years of extensive nursing experience caring for patients in multiple settings. McKenna came to FMH in June 2008 as the assistant director of the 32-bed medical surgical unit and 5-bed intensive care unit. She is an active member of multiple hospital committees and a former co-chair of the ICU committee.
McKenna lives in Sidney with her two sons, ages 17 and nine.
