HCC to Present Worksite Wellness Conference for Area Businesses

Will features keynote presentation from world-renowned wellness authority

April 1, 2010

“Why Wellness, Why Now?” a half-day conference for business owners, CEOs, and human resources representatives of Greater Franklin County businesses, will be held on Tuesday, May 25, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Attendees will learn how wellness programs and healthier employees can have a positive affect on their place of business. The conference will feature a number of speakers, including a keynote presentation from world-renowned wellness authority and author Steven Aldana, Ph.D. His most recent book, The Culprit and the Cure, is currently being used by more than 4,500 companies and corporations to boost productivity and reduce employee related health expenses. Dr. Aldana is also the CEO and founder of WellSteps, a wellness program designed to help employees adopt and maintain healthy lifelong behaviors. Wellsteps provides health promotion guidance to many of the nation’s largest corporations including NASA, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Johnson & Johnson, among others.

Along with an understanding of worksite wellness, attendees will receive a USB drive loaded with speaker presentations and information. The event will also include breakfast, networking opportunities, and a formal question and answer session.

The cost for this event is $25 before April 15 and $35 after. Deadline for registration is May 20. To register or for more information, visit www.fchn.org/hcc/healthworks, or call Healthy Community Coalition at 779-2933.
