October 31, 2007
The Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) and the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital invite the public to attend a free community presentation called Working with Assistive Devices to Support Children's Health Needs, on Monday, November 5, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
At this presentation, participants will learn more about working with a variety of assistive devices including those related to communication, mobility, and daily living. Find out what else is available to support children as well. The evening is facilitated by Robin Gilbert, RN, BSN, CEN, Manager of the Emergency Department at Rumford Hospital, who has extensive experiences working with the technology dependent child.
There will be light refreshments. Childcare is also available upon advance request (at least three days).
The presentation is a part of the new Six O'clock Series, a collaborative effort of the HCC and the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The series features monthly presentations on timely health topics and provides information on how to connect to community resources relevant to the topic. Presentations will be held throughout greater Franklin County. Upcoming topics include working with assistive devices to support children's health needs, and managing diabetes over the holidays.
