Franklin Memorial Hospital was recently designated as a 2009 PRC (Professional Research Consultants) recipient of five- and four-star national excellence in healthcare awards in laboratory services, nursing care, and emergency services. PRC is a nationally known healthcare research company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
The awards came as a result of research that was conducted to obtain the opinions of 90 percent of the medical staff at Franklin Community Health Network and Franklin Memorial Hospital via confidential telephone interviews to assess their perceptions of hospital operations and patient care. Their results were compared to a database of physician responses-providing a baseline from which FCHN and FMH can gauge its medical staff’s perceptions-against those practicing in other hospitals across the country.
“Three clinical service areas are very highly regarded by the medical staff and compared to the national database,” said Jerry Cayer, FCHN executive vice president. “Franklin Memorial Hospital laboratory services received a five-star rating, meaning it was ranked in the top 10 percent nationally; while nursing care and emergency services each received four-star ratings, putting them among the top 25 percent.”
“We are so proud of Franklin Community Health Network and Franklin Memorial Hospital and are thrilled to present them with these National Excellence in Healthcare Awards,” said Joe Inguanzo, PhD, president and CEO of Professional Research Consultants. “They are truly dedicated to making their organization a better place for patients to be treated and for physicians to practice medicine.”
