Office is located one-fourth mile west of Franklin Memorial Hospital on Rtes. 2 & 4
January 7, 2013
Flu shots are still available from the Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) of Greater Franklin County by stopping by its office located at 105 Mt. Blue Circle, Suite #1, in Farmington, which is one-fourth mile west of Franklin Memorial Hospital on Rtes. 2 & 4.
In a recent update, the Centers for Disease Control reports a high level of flu activity in 29 states and a moderate level in nine others. The flu started early and the virus is spreading rapidly. It is especially important this year to get vaccinated as this year’s strain is particularly aggressive.
HCC office hours are 8 a.m.–4 p.m., however anyone wanting a flu shot should call first to ensure that a nurse is available to administer the shot. Call Cheryl Moody, RN, at 779-2214.
Due to the cost of the vaccine, there is a suggested donation of $20 (or by donating what you can afford). Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid cannot be accepted. The HCC purchases all vaccine used and appreciates donations to help cover costs.
Flu shots will be provided to individuals 18 and older. Those who are under the age of 18 should contact their primary care medical provider.
For more information, contact the Healthy Community Coalition at 779-2214.
