Organizers of the Rangeley Fabulous Fall Finale that took place October 22-23 have deemed it a success raising more than $6,000 for the Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) of Greater Franklin County, an affiliate of Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN).
The HCC offers health screenings, health information, programs and events that prevent disease and improve quality of life. Its community outreach efforts appear in every town and corner of the region.
The headliner fashion show and auction at Saddleback featured four seasons sporting attire and equipment modeled by local personalities, and hosted by special guest Birdie Googins, the Marden’s lady. Popular auction items were a kayak, fishing rods, a complete snowmobile outfit including a helmet, skis, an autographed Wheaties box featuring Seth Wescott, as well as a hiking ensemble.
“The weekend was a lot of fun and a fundraising success and I thank everyone who volunteered or donated items or services,” said Tom Hagerstrom, FCHN fund development director. “Plans are already underway for an even bigger and better event next year.”
The great golf ball drop via helicopter took place on the final day at Evergreen Golf Club in Rangeley. Winners of the cash prizes were: Shirley Heutz, 1st place $300; Dennis Haszko, 2nd place $200; and Tim Davis, 3rd place $100.
Special thanks are extended to the organizing committee: Jenn and Chris Farmer, Judy Morton, Kate Williamson, Tina Marie Falasco, Caroline Bates, Ron Cullenberg, Heather Davis, Janis Walker, Julie Sexton, and Tom Hagerstrom.
A big thank you is also given to Saddleback Mountain, Adrian Harris, Susie Sanders, Birdie Googins, Jimmy Austin, Evergreen Golf Club, Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust, and Moose Alley, and the many merchants that donated items or services.
