First Aid and CPR Classes Offered
November 9, 2009
Registrations are now being accepted for CPR and first aid courses taking place in December and January at the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
A Heartsaver CPR course is being offered on Tuesday, December 1, from 5-9 p.m. The Heartsaver CPR course follows the standards and guidelines for CPR from the American Heart Association and is designed for the general public. It will include information on basic cardiac life support techniques for adults, children, and infants, as well instruction on automated external defibrillators.
The standard first aid class is taking place on Thursday, January 21 from 5-9 p.m. First aid is the immediate care that you give someone with an illness or injury before trained help arrives. Topics will include first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies.
There is a $45 fee for each course, which includes the cost of the textbook, class, and course completion card—or $60 to attend both classes. For more information or to register, contact Amanda Brown at 779-2381.
