The Hospital’s Bass Room was the festive setting for the annual employee recognition reception for Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN) on November 3. Employees at five-year milestones and those with sixteen or more years of service were invited to attend.
The event, coordinated by Carol Jackson of Human Resources, kicked off with a social hour with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Rebecca Ryder, FCHN president/CEO, welcomed the group and thanked everyone for the quality of their work.
“I’m pleased to take this time to recognize what is critically important. It is your level of commitment that makes this organization great and for many of you it has been a lifelong commitment,” she said. “Each and every one of you is important to the success of our organization—regardless of your role.”
More than 100 employees and their guests attended the reception. Certificates and gifts were presented to those employees at five-year milestones and managers were on-hand to provide engaging anecdotes and kind words as employees accepted their gifts.
Mary O’Donal was recognized as the employee with the most years of service. O’Donal, who has been employed by the hospital for 49 years, started her career as a nurse’s helper at the original facility on North Main Street. When the new hospital opened at its present location in 1975, O’Donal started out as a unit secretary on the medical/surgical unit then moved to unit secretary in the operating room, before finally settling into the medical records department where she has been for the last 19 years.
Employees present with more than 25 years of service, but not at 5-year increments received special recognition. They included: Nancy Larue, 43 years, Med/Surg Unit; Michelle Lucey, 36 years, Clinical Documentation; Pam Ernest, 34 years, Nursing; Anna Ellrich, 34 years, Purchasing; Roberta Lisk, 33 years, Lab; Winnie Mosher, 32 years, ED; Joyce Stinchfield, 32 years, Pharmacy; Cheryl Moody, 31 years, Care Support; Fawn Paradis, 29 years, Lab; Beth Allen, 28 years, Lab; Bill Colwell, 28 years, IS; Charlene Colwell, 28 years, Maternal Child Health; Michelle Abbott, 28 years, ED; Roger Wells, 27 years, Security; and Jan Bell, 27 years, Med/Surg.
