Dr. Richard Batstone Joins Franklin Urology

Richard Batt, president of Franklin Community Health Network, is pleased to announce that Richard Batstone, MD, has joined the medical staff of Franklin Urology and Franklin Memorial Hospital. Dr. Batstone, who is a urologist and surgeon, assumed his new position on December 18.
Besides general urology, Dr. Batstone’s professional interests include the management of prostate and stone diseases. Before joining Franklin Urology, he most recently provided urology care at Craigavon Area Hospital in Ireland.
Dr. Batstone is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology and a Fellow of the Royal Australasia College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree at Cambridge University in England. Before his advanced training in urology, he spent three years as a Senior House Officer in orthopedics, neurosurgery, emergency care, urology, and general surgery.
Franklin Urology offers treatment for a full range of urological disorders and conditions for men, women, and children, including: urology surgery; prostate and bladder cancer treatment; vasectomy and vasectomy reversal; and treatment of male infertility, urinary incontinence, prostate disease, and kidney stones. All insurances and health plans are accepted.

Dr Batstone holds dual U.S. and Australian citizenship and spent his early school years in Massachusetts. He resides in Waterville with his wife, Louise, and their three young children. During his free time he enjoys tennis, walking, hiking, and horseback riding, and plans to start skiing again.
