Dr. Cummings Becomes Only Physician in Maine with American Orthopaedic Association Membership

Franklin Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Nancy Cummings, has been accepted for active membership to the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA), the oldest and most distinguished orthopaedic association in the world.
Obtaining membership in the AOA begins with a nomination made by a current AOA member and seconded by another member. Only those who have made significant contributions to education, research, and/or the practice of orthopaedic surgery achieve membership. Currently, Dr. Cummings is the only physician from Maine with AOA membership.
Dr. Cummings is Franklin Orthopedic’s medical director and lead orthopedic surgeon.
Besides her role there, she is also the Director of the Carrabassett Clinic at Sugarloaf, and the physician for Carrabassett Valley Academy and the University of Maine at Farmington. She has over 20 years experience in orthopedics.
Franklin Orthopedics is located on Routes 2 & 4 in Farmington, approximately ¼ mile south of Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
