Franklin Community Health Network's (FCHN) third annual Champions for Health Care Basketball Tournament takes place on April 3-5 at UMF's Dearborn Gymnasium. All proceeds go towards Evergreen Behavioral Service's new Child Development Center.
"This year's tournament will consist of seven teams, including the Valley Team, who holds the title to the longest win streak in the State of Maine and six straight State championships," said Maureen Goudreau, FCHN Foundation Director. "The top two teams from each bracket will advance to the championship game being held on Sunday, April 5."
Admission is $3 per person, $1 per child, and children under the age of 12 are free. Refreshments will be available. Details of the tournament and a schedule of games can be found on the FCHN Web site: http://www.fchn.org/support/events/champions-for-healthcare-2009
Evergreen's Child Development Center provides therapeutic evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents with developmental disorders including autism, Asperger's disorder, ADHD, and other developmental and behavioral problems. The Center opened in December 2008, and is one of only three such centers in Maine. Over 160 children and their families have already made their way through the doors of the center.
