FMH to Host Red Sox Nation Blood Drive on July 3

June 19, 2008

The American Red Cross is urging eligible blood donors to give blood before the Fourth of July holiday. While everyone enjoys celebrating the holidays, it is a time when blood shortages are likely to occur.

Donors in the Farmington area can help when the Red Cross conducts a Red Sox Nation blood drive at Franklin Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 3, from 1-6 p.m.. All presenting blood donors will receive a free limited edition Red Sox Nation t-shirt and will be eligible to win two tickets to a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

Donors may safely give blood through the Red Cross every 8 weeks. Eligible donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in good health.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-482-0743).
