**Former Red Sox great Rico Petrocelli will be on Hand Two Days as a Special Guest
Franklin Community Health Network’s 21st annual Healthcare Golf Classic will be a two-day, two-tournament event at the Sugarloaf Golf Club. The event will take place Sunday, July 13th, through Monday, July 14th.
The beneficiaries will once again be the Healthy Community Coalition and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Both provide health services to people in need. Also, a special tribute to FCHN President Richard Batt will take place as he celebrates his 16th and final tournament before retiring.
The tournament is a four-person scramble and anyone is welcome to participate as part of a team or as an individual (individuals who register will be assigned to teams needing members).
The Healthcare Golf Classic festivities will begin with a noontime best ball tournament on Sunday followed by a reception with Maine humorist, Gary Crocker. On Monday, a continental breakfast for all players takes place, followed by 18 holes of tournament play, a luncheon, awards ceremony, and raffle.
Steve Pierce, chairperson of this year’s event said, “On hand will be special guest Rico Petrocelli, a former Red Sox great who set an American League baseball record in 1969 for most home runs by a shortstop (40) and tied a then-record for fewest errors by a shortstop (14).” Petrocelli will play with each team at a par 3 hole and autograph items.
“There are also a variety of sponsorship opportunities for area businesses including platinum team sponsors, trophy sponsors, snack cart sponsors, hole sponsors, and more,” added Pierce
