Medical Arts Center Open House Slated for June 29

June 11, 2008

On Sunday, June 29, from 5-7 p.m., the Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host an open house to celebrate the near completion of the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center, located behind Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Festivities will include live music, children’s activities, door prizes, horse drawn wagon rides around the hospital campus, guided tours on the Tree of Life Trail, blood pressure checks on the Healthy Community Coalition’s new Mobile Health Unit, free ice cream sundaes for all, and more!

The 58,000 square foot building will house the [Franklin Health] pediatrics, women’s care, orthopaedics, general surgery, and urology medical practices, as well as the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Additionally, some departments currently in the hospital will be relocated to the lower level of the facility, namely Human Resources, Health Information Management, and Care Support.

The new cheerful and bright space will offer patients easier access to diagnostic services at Franklin Memorial Hospital such as radiology and lab services, and outpatient specialty care. Physicians and nurses will enjoy the efficient space of the building, as well as the convenience of being located near the hospital’s surgical suites, maternal and child health unit, and inpatient rooms.

“In addition to attracting and retaining great doctors and other staff, this outstanding new facility will allow us to provide the highest quality patient care with new facilities matching the outstanding excellence of our staff,” said FMH President Richard Batt.

A workforce of approximately 25-75 people, many of them locally-based, has been on site most of the time during the 18-month construction project.

To reach the new building, take the same entrance as Franklin Memorial Hospital, then an immediate left. Follow the road approximately ¼ mile to the building’s main entrance.

For additional information, call the Community Relations office at 779-2555 or 1-800-398-6031, ext. 2555.
