Hospital Announces Photo Exhibit Winners

June 11, 2008

“When I was a Kid” has been captured in grand style by the photography of local residents featured in the current photography exhibit at Franklin Memorial Hospital. On a wall near the hospital’s Ben Franklin Center Library, twenty photographs framed in various sizes express the theme When I was a Kid.

The exhibit entitled, A Moment in Time, represents the work of greater Franklin County recreational photographers. Every few months the exhibit and theme changes, putting on display pictures of holiday traditions, vacations, parents, home, and more.

Photo selections now on display were made based on artistic value, quality, diversity, and consistency with the stated theme. They include: Belle by Robin Bragg, Ready for the Last Supper by Gil Riley, Grandkids on Mt. Cadillac by Jan Bell, I’ve got Milk by Paula Roy, Backyard Playtime by Abbie Thompson, The Once and Future Economic Hub by Tony Nazar, My First Tractor by Gil Riley, In the Spring Time of my Life by a relative of Julie Sawyer, Hanging On by Jill Gray, Watching the Parade Go By submitted by Rita Porter, Sisters: Over 50 Years of Memories by a relative of Julie Sawyer, Everyone Loves a Parade by Shannon Smith, Old Crow Band by Tony Nazar, I Could Run and Watch the Ocean All Day by Jo Morgan, When I [Laura Dunham] was Young by Unknown, Pumpkin Season by Paula Roy, I Would Never Share a Binkie by Jo Morgan, Santa Brought Me Skis! by Jill Gray, May I have this Dance? by Gil Riley.

The next exhibit’s theme, Back to School, will be on display this fall. Entry deadline is October 1. Anyone living in Franklin Memorial’s service area is eligible to submit two photographs. Each photograph should be unframed and have a completed entry form attached. The entry form is available by calling 779-2555 or one can be picked up at the Hospital’s front desk.

Entries should be directed to Jill Gray, Franklin Community Health Network, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, ME 04938. For more information, contact Gray at 779-2555.
