Physician Practices to Have New Names

June 24, 2008

Effective July 1, all Franklin Memorial Hospital medical practices will be changing their names to Franklin Health. Franklin Health includes nine physician practices, located in Farmington, Wilton, and Livermore Falls. The practices together are one of the largest providers of health care services in the State.

The affected medical practices include: Pine Tree Family Practice, Pine Tree Internal Medicine, Pine Tree Pediatrics, Pine Tree Women’s Care, Wilton Family Practice, Rockomeka Family Practice, Franklin Surgery, Franklin Orthopedics, and Franklin Urology.

Pine Tree Internal Medicine will be renamed Franklin Health Internal Medicine; Wilton Family Practice will be renamed Franklin Health Wilton Family Practice; Franklin Surgery will be renamed Franklin Health Surgery; and so on. The most significant name change will be that of Rockomeka Family Practice, which will become Franklin Health Livermore Falls Family Practice.

“In the coming months we will increase the integration and connections of services among all of Franklin Community Health Network to improve patient care. This effort will include hospital departments, physician offices, mental health services, and local United Way agencies. This is part of our new strategic plan to provide better coordinated patient care,” said Richard Batt, Franklin Community Health Network President. “The name of ‘Franklin Health’ is another step towards a vision of family-centered care which is focused on coordination across providers and sites, convenient access, and patient education.”
