Neighbors Helping Neighbors Gives $200 to Town Taxi

Members of Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) recently voted to allocate $200 to Town Taxi specifically designated for patients of Franklin Memorial Hospital who need a taxi ride home from the hospital or from one of its on-campus medical practices.

Health Career Scholarships Available

The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is once again offering health career scholarships. The scholarships will be presented to students in need of financial assistance who reside in Greater Franklin County, including Livermore Falls and Livermore, and are pursuing careers in the health care field.

Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center is Open

January 24, 2012

A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center at 21 Main Street in Livermore Falls on January 21 that featured Senator Susan Collins as the keynote speaker. The Center, which is owned by Franklin Memorial Hospital, is now open for business and brings together personnel and services previously provided at Franklin Health Livermore Falls Family Practice on Union Street and at Franklin Memorial Hospital Outpatient Services on Main Street.

Teague Earns Healthcare Facility Manager Certification

January 9, 2012

Gerald Cayer, Franklin Community Health Network (FCHN) executive vice president, is pleased to announce that Cole Teague has earned the designation of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) from the American Hospital Association Certification Center. Teague is the newly appointed interim chief of facilities management for the health network. Previously Teague was the facilities supervisor for nearly six years.

Free Blood Pressure Checks offered on Martin Luther King Day

January 6, 2012

NorthStar EMS and AmeriCorps are offering free blood pressure checks on Martin Luther King Day, January 16, at two Farmington locations. Screenings will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon at the United Way offices on Broadway in downtown Farmington, then from 1–4 p.m. at Wal-Mart on the Wilton Road.
