Dr. Rowland is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Rowland is Medical Director of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Occupational Health Program, which provides comprehensive medical services for area employers and employees, including injury management. He also performs vasectomies at the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center in Livermore Falls.
Dr. Rowland has been a member of the Franklin Memorial Hospital staff since 1992 when he began working as medical director of the emergency department.
Dr. Rowland did his undergraduate work at Yale College, and received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1983. He completed his family medicine training at the Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in 1987, and received a Masters in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in 2005. He was awarded a fellowship in patient advocacy by Columbia University from 2006-8 for his work with migrant farm workers, and received the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru in 2009.
