Dr. Rowland is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Occupational Medicine. His family medicine practice is at Livermore Falls Family Practice with Dr. Janice Lee and nurse practitioner Mary Dunlap. There he performs vasectomies every Friday (see vasectomy.com for profile)
Dr.Rowland is also medical director of the Occupational Health Program at FMH, which provides comprehensive medical services for area employers and employees, including injury management. This practice includes a Travel Medicine Clinic, open to the public, for those who need immunizations and other medical preparation for foreign travel.
Schooling
Dr. Rowland did his undergraduate work at Yale College, and received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1983. He completed his family medicine training at the Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in 1987, and received a Masters in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in 2005. He was awarded a fellowship in patient advocacy by Columbia University from 2006-8. He has been a member of the FMH staff since 1992 when he began working as medical director of the emergency department.He was awarded a fellowship in patient advocacy from Columbia University from 2006-8 for his work with migrant farm workers. He also received the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru in 2009
