Franklin Health Access

The mission of Franklin Health Access is to improve the health and well-being of the uninsured and underinsured residents of Greater Franklin County through advocacy, education, treatment, and access to services.

General Information

Who can become a member?
Franklin Health Access welcomes people of all ages that have no health insurance or insurance with a deductible of $5000 or greater and that meet the eligibility criteria.

You may qualify for Franklin Health Access membership if you:

  • Do not currently have health insurance or have insurance with as high deductible ($5000 or greater).
  • Meet certain household income guidelines based on family size.
  • Resident of Franklin County, Livermore, Livermore Falls, or Vienna.

How will the program help me?

If you do not have a doctor, we will help you choose one that participates in this program.

You will be assigned a Personal Health Advocate who will help you with your healthcare needs and also refer you to other available community resources.

You will receive services based on a sliding-fee scale, and free self-help information. You are also eligible for a free ScoreHealth screening for cholesterol, blood pressure, and heart risk factors. We can also provide assistance with access to affordable prescription medications. We assist you with applications for free or low cost medications provided by drug companies and with any discount programs you may be eligible for.

Franklin Health Access welcomes people of all ages that have no health insurance and that meet the eligibility criteria.

What will my responsibilities be?
You will be responsible to pay a pre-determined portion of your healthcare hill based on your income and family size. You will need to tell us about any changes in your income or household size. You will be responsible for your own health care.
Your doctor and Personal Health Advocate will assist you as needed.

How do I enroll?
Please call Franklin Health Access for an enrollment appointment. You will need to provide proof of income. For more information please call our office at 779-2772 or 1-888-952-2772 Persons that use a TTY can call 779-2662.

What doesn't this program do?

  • It does not provide health insurance
  • It does not guarantee benefits
  • It does not cover out of service areas
  • Not all providers are participating in project services
  • It does not cover Inpatient, Observation or Day Surgery.  For these services, you must apply for FranklinCares.

Can it help me become healthier?
The choice is yours. You will be in control of your own health. You will create a plan of care that includes personal goals of your choice. We will assist you in solving the problems that you identify as getting in the way of your very best health.
Need transportation to get to your medical appointments?
We will try to help. Have trouble with weight gain? Smoking? High cholesterol? We will help you enroll in services or classes to improve your health. We will provide you with free health education and support to achieve your personal health goals. We want to see you become healthier and stay that way.
