Open to All Women in Need of a Mammogram and Physical
Livermore Falls, Maine. – Local women can have high quality breast and cervical health screenings at one convenient appointment at a special screening day December 13th , from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Franklin Memorial Outpatient Services in Livermore Falls.
Screenings are open to all women with or without insurance. Sponsors are the Healthy Community Coalition, Western Maine Family Health Center, Franklin Memorial Outpatient Services in Livermore Falls, the Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund, the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Every woman who attends the breast and cervical health screening will receive a light breakfast and an opportunity to receive free cholesterol and bone density as well as a free massage.
Maine women 40 and older who have no insurance or whose insurance does not cover annual mammograms or Pap tests or women who have a high deductible may qualify to receive free services at this screening through the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program. Enrollment in this program also qualifies women for treatment coverage should any breast or cervical conditions be diagnosed.
Women without insurance who do not meet the income guidelines for the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program may qualify for a free mammogram through funding available from the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Participants will receive mammograms, pap tests, clinical breast and pelvic exams as well as information on nutrition and tobacco. Women attending this special event will also receive a free bone density screening. The bone density screening will be available 8a.m. – 12 p.m. Healthy Community Coalition’s Jennifer McCormack R.N. will be using the Achilles Express ultrasonometer to conduct the screening. This screening involves placing a bare heel in the ultrasound machine. Osteoporosis is the loss of bone mass and thinning of bones which causes a decrease in bone strength.
