What is GOAL?
- GOAL is a physical activity and nutrition program that is the physician-supported, sociable way to help ourselves and each other improve diet, exercise and self-respect.
- GOAL is a free series of eight 2 hour sessions to help you take simple steps to better health.
- The program works best, is the most fun, if you bring a spouse, family member, friend or co-worker.
What happens at a GOAL group?
- GOAL groups are led by a trained facilitator and generally last two hours.
- The Groups are designed to be very interactive. Participants develop realistic goals and are encouraged to celebrate their success.
- Each GOAL group session includes:
- Nutritious Pot Luck Meal – Participants are given recipes and asked to bring their dishes to share with the group
- Stretching and Breathing Exercises – easy techniques are shared and practiced
- Stress and Relaxation – from music relaxation to stress busters, this is group favorite!
- Physical Activity – easy ways to increase weekly activity designed for all fitness levels.
What does GOAL do?

- Through success in GOAL you learn to believe in yourself, empowering you to make other positive changes in your life.
