HCC is known as a leader for its role in developing tobacco-free policies, procedures and support of programs that encourage tobacco-free lifestyles. Healthy Community Coalition offers individualized ongoing tobacco and nicotine cessation and healthy lifestyle support to members of our community. This free service is available to anyone interested in becoming nicotine free. HCC staff is trained to counsel individuals on tobacco cessation, help them identify triggers and create a plan to break free from tobacco, and create a healthier life.
For convenience, individuals can receive support through in-person meetings, via phone, text or e-mail, or in a group setting. Individuals will receive local confidential support from health professionals specially trained in tobacco cessation counseling. Continued health coaching and support beyond an individual’s initial quitting period is available to help individuals remain tobacco-free.
This service is provided through funding from the Maine Cancer Foundation. For more information or to connect with a tobacco cessation counselor, please call 779-2750.

Staff will be available to administer the influenza vaccine (seasonal flu shot) to individuals 18 years old and older at numerous sites throughout our community.
In the event of inclement weather that involves school closures, flu clinics on those dates will be rescheduled. Please bring your insurance card and information with you. Most insurance companies cover the cost of receiving the shot. For individuals that do not have insurance there is a suggested donation of $20 or whatever you can afford.
