Mission Statement
Franklin Child Care is committed to providing high quality, affordable child care services for the employees of Franklin Community Health Network as well as for other members of the community. In addition to delivering developmentally appropriate, tender loving care to young children, we are committed to fostering social competence and nurturing children’s aspirations, interest, and talents.
Fostering Social Competence
Our challenge is to support children’s self-esteem and self-discipline, respecting individual and group differences and eliminating barriers based on race, culture, gender, or ability. We will create an environment where children are loved, cared for, and affirmed. Children will be encouraged to do their best and care for others as they would have others act toward them.
Respect for nature ties into respect for ourselves. We will utilize nature as a learning tool. Children will be encouraged to become nature detectives – to observe, smell, feel and listen to the natural environment in an effort to understand it. More importantly, they will learn why they should respect nature and the simple steps they can take to preserve it.
Nurturing Children’s Aspirations
A child’s level of aspirations is directly proportional to the adult role models in his/her life. As role models, we will distinguish ourselves in this region for our excellence in creating an environment filled with nurturing and positive affirmations that foster positive self-esteem. Children will receive encouragement to develop their own potential and to be supportive of others’ efforts and achievements.
We will create a developmentally appropriate, fun learning experience that recognizes the unique and special gifts that every child has. We will use the oral history of local people and communities to convey the possibilities of life to children and to excite them about realizing their own potential.
Community Affordability and Program Viability
We will seek to maintain a high quality service that we can be proud of and that parents will be satisfied with while pricing the service in a manner that is affordable to our clients. In this way, we can sustain the program on a long-term basis.
To these ends, Franklin Community Health Network has made a commitment to a high-quality program and has dedicated money to subsidize this project beyond the amount of client revenues. Franklin Community Health Network is committed to the issue of affordability and will use its resources to attract government and private subsidies and grants, in addition to strategic partnerships with various organizations, to ease the financial burden for participants.
